M.Phil / Ph.D
Candidates applying for M.Phil Degree at PSGCAS need to apply through Bharathiar University at stipulated time period. The regulations for applying and conduct of M.Phil degree are applicable to guidelines mentioned in M.Phil regulations of Bharathiar University from time to time.

The Degree of Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) is awarded to a candidate who has completed theory examinations under Part I successfully and submitted a dissertation under Part II on the basis of the original research carried out by him or her in any one particular discipline or involving more than one discipline (inter-disciplinary research) that makes a contribution to the advancement of knowledge, which is approved by duly constituted Board of Examiners comprising the research supervisor and one external examiner, and prerequisites as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for the Award of M. Phil., / Ph. D., Degree) Regulations, 2009/2016. Hence, the degree awarded by Bharathiar University is in compliance with the UGC Regulations 2009/2016.
