About Us
Ministry of Education Cell (MIC) to systematically foster the culture of innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). IIC encourages and nurtures young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are in formative years.
IIC envisions creating an 'Institution's Innovation Council (IICs)' across selected HEIs and a network to promote innovation through multidisciplinary modes leading to an innovation promotion ecosystem on campus.
Major Focus of IIC
To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem, support start-up mechanisms, prepare institutes for national rankings on innovation achievements, establish functions for sourcing ideas and pre-incubation, and develop entrepreneurial ability among students.
Functions of IICs
- Conduct innovation and entrepreneurship activities as prescribed by Central MIC.
- Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
- Organize workshops, seminars and interactions with entrepreneurs and investors.
- Create an institution’s innovation portal to highlight projects.
- Organize hackathons, idea competitions, mini-challenges with industry involvement.
Objective
Promote innovation and entrepreneurship avenues, conduct training programmes, innovation contests, hackathons and encourage student participation in idea-to-market activities.
