Continuous Assessment & Comprehensive Exam
Continuous assessment (CA) – tests, assignments, seminars etc. – constitute the CA part - periodical assessment by respective Departments and
Comprehensive examination (CE) - assessment through end- semester examinations by internal and external examiners.
Candidates who are desirous of having their answer books retotalled shall download the form and apply to the Controller of Examinations, PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore– 14, remitting the sum prescribed per answer book within 10 calendar days from the date of publication of results. Where the marks obtained in retotalling are higher than the marks awarded earlier, the Controller of Examinations will issue the revised mark sheet after withdrawing the previous one.
Candidates who are desirous of having their answer books revalued shall download the form and apply to the Controller of Examinations, PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore– 14, remitting the sum prescribed per answer book within 10 calendar days from the date of publication of results. Where the marks awarded in the revaluation are higher than the marks awarded earlier, the Controller of Examinations will issue the revised mark sheet after withdrawing the previous one.
Candidates who have passed in Examination / Examinations of UG/PG programmes may be permitted to appear again (only once) for the Comprehensive Examination / Examinations of the Programme / Programmes under regulations and syllabus in force then, with a view to improve their attainments, if they do not show improvement, their previous results shall hold good. Such candidates shall not apply for their degree certificates in the convocations held in between. Also such reappearances shall be made at the examination(s) conducted in the College in the next two semesters.
To provide an opportunity to the final UG, PG and Add-on career oriented course students to complete their programmes in the same year itself and to help them for vertical mobility, additional supplementary comprehensive examination is conducted in June every year in the final semester subjects.
A special supplementary examination is conducted in June / July every year, to facilitate the students who have failed in only one subject from first to fifth semester in case of UG and MCA, from first to third semester in case of other PG and first to Ninth semester in case of MSc Software Systems (five year intergrated course), to complete their programme in the same year itself.
