May 2021 Exam Results - Regular

Evaluation System

For students admitted in UG & PG Programmes in 2020-2021 & Earlier

The college follows 25 : 75 pattern for UG & PG (25 Marks for Continuous assessment and 75 Marks for Comprehensive examinations). Under CA system, the student is continuously assessed by the faculty members concerned through Periodical tests, Assignments, Quiz, Etc. The student must get a minimum of 27 marks (35%) in CE and 40 marks (40%) in CE and CA put together at UG level and 34 marks (45%) in CE and 50 marks (50%) in CE and CA put together at PG level, (other than MSc (SS) and MCA) to pass the examinations. For MSc (SS) and MCA programmes, a student must get a minimum of 38 marks (50%) in CE and 50 marks (50%) in CE and CA put together to pass the examination.


For students admitted in UG & PG Programmes in 2021-2022 & Onwards

For students admitted in UG & PG Programmes in 2021-2022 & Onwards The college follows 50 : 50 pattern (50 Marks for Continuous assessment and 50 Marks for Comprehensive examinations). Under CA system, the student is continuously assessed by the faculty members concerned through Periodical tests, Assignments, Library usage, Skill innovative tasks, Attendance , Etc. The student must get a minimum of 20 marks (40%) in CE and 40 marks (40%) in CE and CA put together at UG level and 25 marks (50%) in CE and 50 marks (50%) in CE and CA put together at PG level.



Undergraduate Programmes

Classification of Results (Part I & Part II)
  • 60% & above First Class
  • 50% TO 59.99% Second Class
  • 40 % TO 49.99% Third Class

Classification of Results (Part III)

For BVoc
  • 95% & above First Class and Outstanding*
  • 75% TO 94.99% First Class with Distinction*
  • 60% TO 74.99% First Class
  • 50% TO 59.99% Second Class
  • 40% TO 49.99% Third Class

For all other UG Programmes

  • 90% & above First Class and Outstanding*
  • 75% TO 89.99% First Class with Distinction*
  • 60% TO 74.99% First Class
  • 50% TO 59.99% Second Class
  • 40% TO 49.99% Third Class
  • *Applicable only for students who have passed the Part III Examinations in First Attempt within his/her study period of three years.

Post graduate Programmes

Classification:
  • 90% & above First Class and Outstanding*
  • 75% TO 89.99% First Class with Distinction*
  • 60% TO 74.99% First Class
  • 50% TO 59.99% Second Class
  • *Applicable only for students who have passed Examinations in First Attempt within his/her study period.

Provision to Retotal the Answer Books

Candidates who are desirous of having their answer books retotalled shall download the form and apply to the Controller of Examinations, PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore– 14, remitting the sum prescribed per answer book within 10 calendar days from the date of publication of results. Where the marks obtained in retotalling are higher than the marks awarded earlier, the Controller of Examinations will issue the revised mark sheet after withdrawing the previous one.

Provision to Apply for Revaluation of Comprehensive Examination Marks

Candidates who are desirous of having their answer books revalued shall download the form and apply to the Controller of Examinations, PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore– 14, remitting the sum prescribed per answer book within 10 calendar days from the date of publication of results. Where the marks awarded in the revaluation are higher than the marks awarded earlier, the Controller of Examinations will issue the revised mark sheet after withdrawing the previous one.

Facility to Reappear in an Examination / Examinations Already Passed

Candidates who have passed in Examination / Examinations of UG/PG programmes may be permitted to appear again (only once) for the Comprehensive Examination / Examinations of the Programme / Programmes under regulations and syllabus in force then, with a view to improve their attainments, if they do not show improvement, their previous results shall hold good. Such candidates shall not apply for their degree certificates in the convocations held in between. Also such reappearances shall be made at the examination(s) conducted in the College in the next two semesters.

System of “Transparency in Examination”

  • In this system, 'Photo Copies' of evaluated answer scripts will be furnished to the students on their request.
  • Students by remitting the prescribed fees shall apply within 10 calendar days from the date of issue of their mark sheets.
  • Students who applied for, will be called for a meeting and the Photo copies of evaluated answer scripts will be furnished to the students. Students shall scrutinize the same.
  • Subject experts will be there to clear the doubts if any.
  • After scrutiny, if they want their scripts to be revalued they shall apply for the same within 3 calendar days.

Additional Supplementary Examination

  • To provide an opportunity to the final UG, PG and Add-on career oriented course students to complete their programmes in the same year itself and to help them for vertical mobility, additional supplementary comprehensive examination is conducted in June every year in the final semester subjects.

Special Supplementary Examination

  • A special supplementary examination is conducted in June / July every year, to facilitate the students who have failed in only one subject from first to fifth semester in case of UG and MCA, from first to third semester in case of other PG and first to Ninth semester in case of MSc Software Systems (five year intergrated course), to complete their programme in the same year itself.
