About the Department
The department of Sociology was established in the year1976. It offers three year undergraduate programme.The course is fundamentally significant for Civil service examinations.The discipline has its own credit as it focusses on all aspects of human life and society. Only PSGCAS offers this course in Coimbatore.

The department firmly imparts scientific knowledge about the human society, ethics and values of human behavior in the vast, diverse and dynamic society and, fosters the student community to be a responsible citizen and an administrator for a better society.
